Amélie studied a double degree (LLB) in French Law and English Law and a Master 1 in International European and Comparative Law at the University of Essex (UK) and the University Toulouse 1 Capitole (France), graduating with a first. She also obtained an academic award for being the highest achieving student of the double degree at the University of Toulouse.
Whilst completing her undergraduate degree, Amélie worked in a firm in France supporting solicitors in the family, private client and property departments. Her language skills were particularly useful to communicate with British clients purchasing properties in France.
After graduating, she came back to the UK in September 2016 to study the Legal Practice Course LLM in Professional Legal Practice. Some of the modules she studied were private client law, employment law, family law and commercial law. Amélie graduated from her LPC with a Distinction. She also obtained a distinction in her professional practice report on the law on pre-nuptial agreements in financial proceedings. During her LPC, she worked part-time as a legal assistant and gained experience in commercial and residential property and private client law.
Amélie joined Owen White & Catlin LLP in September 2017 working as a paralegal in the private client department. She started her training contact in April 2017 continuing to support the private client department and she has recently completed her seat gaining experience in Tax & Estate Administration, Trusts, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. She is currently supporting the Family Law Department in our Ashford branch.
Amélie enjoys running, going to the gym and rock-climbing. She also likes to travel in particular to discover different parts of the UK and visit friends and family in her home country, France.
