Worked at Downs Solicitors as an assistant and receptionist within the family department and briefly within the conveyancing department. Also worked at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau (Woking) as a Court Help Desk Adviser assisting clients at Court and within the office with possession orders, rent arrears and evictions (full training was provided for this role).
Elena was born in Russia, Moscow and has then moved to Germany, Cologne at the age of 3. Eventually at the age of 16, Elena moved to the UK to do her A-levels at Charterhouse School. Elena has therefore been able to adapt all three languages fluently – German, English and Russian. After college, Elena decided to study Politics and Social Policy due to her interest in global affairs and implantation of laws. Despite the enjoyment that Elena had reading Politics, she wanted to eventually go into law, which is why she completed the GDL. She is now due to finish her LPC and is particularly interested in Family Law. Elena
Elena’s main interest are travelling as she has done this from young age. Elena believes that this a great way of meeting new people with different backgrounds and mentalities. Elena also finds it interesting to see how different political systems operate.
Aside from this, Elena likes to work out and to always challenge herself. She likes to go to the gym before work as this sets her up right for the day. Besides, Elena also has enjoyed volunteering throughout her University years. Elena has worked for the YMCA, CAB and completed an internship in Vienna, Austria defending women’s rights/prevention of domestic violence. Moreover, Elena has combined her interest in fitness and volunteering by completing a half marathon in Richmond raising money for an organisation named Amicus. Amicus raises money for people who face the death penalty in the States and require legal advice.
