Elena was born in Moscow, Russia. When she was 3 she moved to Germany and a few years later she moved to the UK for her A-levels at Charterhouse School. She speaks German, English and Russian fluently.
After college, Elena studied Politics and Social Policy due to her interest in global affairs and implantation of laws. Eventually, Elena decided to go into law and completed the GDL. She is now due to finish her LPC and is particularly interested in Family Law.
Elena worked as an assistant and receptionist within the family department at Downs Solicitors and briefly within the conveyancing department.
She worked at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau as a Court Help Desk Adviser and was trained in possession orders, rent arrears and evictions.
Away from work, Elena likes to work out at the gym and enjoys challenges.
Her main interest is travelling. She believes that this a great way of meeting new people with different backgrounds and finds it interesting to see how different political systems operate.
Moreover, Elena has enjoyed volunteering throughout her University years. She’s worked for the YMCA, CAB and completed an internship in Vienna, Austria defending women’s rights/prevention of domestic violence. She’s also combined her interest in fitness and volunteering by completing a half marathon in Richmond raising money for an organisation named Amicus, this company raises money for people who face the death penalty in the States and cannot afford legal advice.
