Thowheetha has over 30 year’s experience in dealing with Family cases. She is committed to helping her clients through a difficult time in their lives by providing them with sensible and practical advice. Thowheetha helps her clients to find a constructive way of resolving their issues resulting from a family relationship breakdown.
Thowheetha undertakes most types of family disputes, particularly divorce, financial settlements, children, civil partnerships and cohabitation. She has experience of dealing with complex and high net worth cases. She understands that no one case is the same and will go the extra mile to find a solution that best meets her client’s needs.Thowheetha is passionate about achieving the best possible solution for her clients and strives to find a practical way forward for them. As a Mediator, Thowheetha sees both parties and guides them through the legal framework to reach a fair and sensible outcome that meets their needs and those of their children.
Thowheetha is an Accredited Specialist member of Resolution, which is a Nationwide organisation for Family lawyers and professionals. She adopts Resolution’s code of practice, by promoting a non-confrontational approach and pursues an amicable settlement, wherever possible. Many of her cases conclude with a negotiated settlement without the need, stress and cost of court hearings. However, she is no stranger to court proceedings and where possible will attend court as an Advocate on behalf of her clients. In her capacity as a Solicitor, Thowheetha is committed to protecting her client’s interests whilst minimising conflict, especially where children are involved and minimising their anxiety.
As an Accredited Family Mediator, with 19 year’s experience, Thowheetha is committed to helping families find a fair and reasonable solution in mediation, which is tailor made to meet their concerns and those of their children. She is trained to directly speak to children in the mediation process so that the adults concerned are more informed and can consider the wishes and feelings of the children when reaching a settlement. Thowheetha firmly believes in alternative ways of resolving a dispute and making Family Mediation more available. She is a Legal Trainer for National Family Mediation and delivers courses on family mediation around the country to people aspiring to be Family mediators and qualified Family Mediators. Thowheetha also mediates for a Charity and has been their Legal Consultant since 1990.
Thowheetha is a Governor of a Special Needs School in Kingston since 2010 and has been Chair of Governors for 6 years. She also teaches Law to CILEX students at Kingston College.
Thowheetha loves to travel and spend time socialising with friends and family. She enjoys going to the theatre, listening to music, reading and as a former F1 fan, she loves driving and fast cars. She has been on a number of hair raising driving experiences in England and abroad and wants to do more of them.
